Cinderella at the Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds
Saturday 10th January 2015, 3pm
Sort out Christmas presents early this year and buy Panto tickets! Join the Ickleton Society at a Traditional Family Pantomime at the Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds. This year’s pantomime is Cinderella, by Peter Duncan.
Cinderella and her father live in the dilapidated Hardup Hall helped by the ever-reliable Buttons, and watched over by a Fairy Godmother. Then one day, two greedy stepsisters charge into their world and make things rather unpleasant! But with a glamorous ball on the horizon, and a chance meeting with a handsome stranger in the forest, are Cinderella’s fortunes about to change? And can she get home before midnight…?
Renowned for its traditional, fun-filled, family pantos, the Theatre Royal promises to serve up a sparkling festive treat filled with catchy songs, silly jokes, and a sprinkling of magic. Packed with dastardly villains, miraculous mice, swirling dresses and some stupendous slapstick, you’re sure to have a ball!
Built in 1819 this Grade 1 listed playhouse is the only surviving example of a Regency theatre in this country – well worth a visit for that reason alone!
