Village Walk and Picnic, May Day Bank Holiday 2 May

Everyone in the village (and any visitors) is invited to join. Meet at the corner of Birds Close and Coploe Road at 11 am. By kind permission of Robert Drage and Peter Wombwell we’ll follow a circular route, going up Coploe Hill, across to Valance Farm – then lunch before walking back to the village across the fields. Please bring a picnic and perhaps a rug to sit on. Water and cold drinks available. Dogs welcome on a lead. Parts of the walk will not be suitable for puchchairs. Most of the paths across the fields are not open to the public so this is a great opportunity to see a different part of Ickleton. The full walk is about 4.5/5 miles. For a shorter walk, you can drive up Coploe Hill, cutting out the initial uphill walk and, by kind permission of Robert Fairhead, park on the hard standing on the right over the brow of Coploe Hill. We suggest you aim to get there about 11.30 am when the groups will meet up.
